Welcome to PicLingo ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our website (piclingo.com) and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

1. Description of Service

PicLingo is an AI-powered language learning platform that lets users upload images to generate vocabulary lists, pronunciations, definitions, and example sentences. We offer different tiers:

  • Starter (Free): Limited daily uploads, watermarked exports, and basic analysis.
  • Pro: Unlimited uploads, advanced analysis (syntax/context), clean exports, and cloud sync.
  • Master: Includes all Pro features plus priority support and personalized services.

2. Accounts and Registration

To access certain features (such as Cloud Sync or Pro/Master plans), you may be required to register an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information.
  • Maintain the security of your password.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

3. User Content and License

3.1 Your Ownership

You retain all rights and ownership of the images you upload ("User Content"). PicLingo does not claim ownership of your photos.

3.2 License to PicLingo

By uploading images, you grant PicLingo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, and process your User Content solely for providing the service to you (e.g., identifying objects and generating vocabulary).

3.3 Data Privacy & AI Training

We value your privacy. Images uploaded by users are processed solely for recognition and learning generation. We do not use your User Content to train our general AI models.

3.4 Prohibited Content

You agree not to upload images that:

  • Are illegal, obscene, pornographic, or defamatory.
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
  • Contain viruses or malicious code.
  • We may remove any content and terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Billing

Paid plans (Pro and Master) are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis ("Subscription Cycle"). The price is shown on the website at the time of purchase (e.g., $9.99/mo for Pro).

4.2 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings. Benefits continue until the end of the current billing cycle, after which your account reverts to the Free tier.

4.3 Refunds

Unless required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the PicLingo software.
  • Scrape or automatically harvest data from the site without our written consent.
  • Share your account credentials with others (unless part of a specific Master plan).

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All content provided by PicLingo, including but not limited to the logo, visual design, AI algorithms, software code, and the structure of generated learning materials, is the property of PicLingo or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties (AI Accuracy)

Please note: Our service relies on AI to identify objects and generate language content. While we strive for high accuracy:

  • PicLingo does not guarantee that recognition results, definitions, translations, or pronunciations are 100% accurate or error-free.
  • The service is for educational and entertainment purposes only and should not be relied upon for professional translation, medical, or legal advice.
  • The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PicLingo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid to us in the past six (6) months.

9. Third-Party Links and Resources

Our service may allow you to export data to third-party formats (e.g., Anki, PDF, Excel). We are not responsible for the functionality or policies of these third-party applications.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
